Manciano, Arezzo & Cortona
Manciano, known locally as "Misericordia", is the birthplace of a famous Italian actor Roberto Benigni (who won the Oscar for the movie “Life is Beautiful”). You can see a statue erected in his honour in a nearby village.
At a 5/10-minute drive you have food stores, supermarkets and many nice and typical restaurants. During summer there are many open air events, and all year long, once a week there is the nice town market.
On the first Sunday of every month, Arezzo hosts one of the most famous and largest Antiques Fair in Italy.
Other places to visit include the Church of San Francesco, Piazza Grande, the Medicean Fortress, the Roman Amphitheatre and the Church of San Domenico
Some of the world’s most beautiful vineyards and some of the greatest wines are right here in Tuscany. Brunello di Montalcino, Nobile di Montepulciano, Chianti Classico… are just a few of the best known!
Alternatively, visit the Historic Centre of Siena, Pienza, Monticchiello, Bagno Vignoni, … the Val d’Orcia.
